The bottleneck
Why "personalized" is the whole game
The dirty secret of phage therapy is that the personalized, compassionate-use version works remarkably well — while several fixed, one-size-fits-all cocktail trials have failed to beat placebo. The biology rewards matching the phage to the patient’s exact strain. But matching takes days of lab work the sickest patients don’t have, and a living, adaptive product doesn’t fit how drugs are approved.
Whoever solves that — fast strain-to-cocktail matching, a deep phage bank, distributed GMP "phage pharmacies," and a regulatory framework for adaptive products — builds the defining infrastructure of the category. That is the real moat, and the real prize.
Responsible commerce
Selling phage cocktails — the right way
"Eventually we sell phage cocktails" is a serious statement with serious obligations. The credible path runs in order: food-safety and topical/cosmetic cocktails (already FDA-cleared categories) → veterinary and agricultural products → human therapeutics through trials, compassionate-use, and national magistral frameworks. Each step funds the next and builds the manufacturing and regulatory muscle the therapeutics require.
What this project will not do is sell unproven therapeutics directly to patients or make medical claims ahead of the evidence. The brand’s value is its scientific credibility.
